We are upfront about our fees so that there are no surprises. Do you have a question about our fees?

Assessment

Equivalent rate of $190.00 per hour (with an additional 30mins allocated to scoring): ($235.00 – $285.00)

An initial assessment is essential in allowing us to properly identify your child’s strengths and areas of difficulty with communication. It is from this deep understanding of your child’s skills that we can set appropriate goals, ultimately catering for greater success in the future. Jumping straight to therapy without this initial assessment can lead to slower progress as we simply don’t have all of the information needed. The length of the initial session will vary between 45mins and 60mins, depending on the number of areas that your child requires support in. Your Speech Pathologist will discuss this with you prior to booking your first appointment.

At Umbrella speech, we deeply value a holistic approach. This means that as part of our initial assessment, we may request to observe your child at school/daycare, and speak with others supporting your child. This will allow us to have a truly well-rounded understanding of your child’s skills across different environments. Without this collaboration, we may end up selecting goals that work in a 1:1 situation, but bear little progress everywhere else. 

Please note that assessment can require more than one session, depending on how many areas of communication require investigating. Subsequent sessions will be billed at the cost of a regular therapy session. Our assessment fees are higher than our therapy fees to cater for the time taken for preparation, scoring and interpreting of results.

Reports

Equivalent rate of $190.00 per hour

Reports vary in length depending on their purpose, and how much information needs to be recorded. Our report writing fees reflect the time it takes to write the report. We strongly encourage parents to seek a report after their child’s initial assessment, as we cannot provide one down the track (the results may no longer be an accurate representation of the child’s skills at that time). Schools and day care settings often find these reports to be very informative for making adjustments to learning tasks, and allocating the right supports and resources.

However, we can provide progress and review reports at any time, following this fee structure.

Therapy

60 minutes: $190.00

(50 minutes allocated to therapy and feedback, 10 minutes allocated to non-contact)

Above are the fees charged for regular therapy appointments. Please note that the therapist will be with you for 50 minutes, and the remaining 10 minutes will be used for non-contact administrative purposes specific to your session.

Travel fees are additional – please see below.

PLEASE NOTE: If more in-depth communication is required (phone calls of more than 10 minutes, or extra time to talk after/before a session), this time will be billed at the rate equivalent to $190.00 per hour. If this is an ongoing occurrence, we may book longer sessions in the future so we don’t run out of time!

Meetings/Consultation: equivalent rate of $190.00 per hour

A crucial part of the therapy process with Umbrella Speech is connecting the whole support team working with your child. At times it may be necessary to participate in stakeholder meetings at your child’s school or daycare, to ensure that our therapy has the longest reach possible.

Travel

10 minutes $31.60 15 minutes $47.50 20 minutes $63.30 30 minutes $95.00

Travel to the service location (home, school, or daycare) is charged at the equivalent of $190.00 per hour, for a maximum of 30 minutes. Only one-way travel is charged, and we try to group our clients in similar locations together to reduce the cost of travel for you.

Cancellations

Please refer to our Cancellation Policy to understand the fees, terms and conditions that may apply. Please note that travel fees will be included in cancellation fees so that other clients are not impacted.
